My Story
Hello, I'm Juniper Vale
I began writing at a borrowed desk in a town library, finishing my first novel between shifts. That book — about a family learning to speak again — became Beyond The Silence, and readers have been writing to me ever since.
Today I write from a sunlit studio surrounded by notebooks, drink far too much tea, and still answer every reader letter myself. My novels span drama, history, romance, mystery and fantasy — but each one asks the same question: what does it take to begin again?
How I Write
Slow Mornings, Honest Drafts
Every novel starts longhand — three notebooks, one fountain pen, no phone. Only when the story can be told aloud does it earn its place on the screen. Then come the revisions: usually nine drafts, always one read-through to the dog.
- Every manuscript read aloud before it is typed up
- Real places visited, real archives searched, real letters kept
- Early chapters tested with the reader circle every spring
